Searching for Persephone is a story of self-discovery and redemption in the midst of loss and defeat. Drawing on Greek myths, fairy folklore and quantum physics, the book explores themes of healing, cultural and personal identity, and the nature of perception and reality.

S.M. Perkins Carr is a writer, poet, Hellenophile and music therapist. She founded Melikos Publishing in 2022 to self-publish her debut novel, Searching for Persephone. She holds an MA in music therapy and a bachelor’s degree in music. Originally from Vancouver, she spent ten years in the UK before settling in the traditional lands of the Lekwungen-speaking peoples (Victoria) in 2019. When she’s not making music or writing, you’ll find her swing dancing or eating Greek food.
